I don’t generally bother with mechanized divisions. Mechanized cost about as much as medium tanks. Tbh, I’d rather have more tanks under most circumstances. For holding open a breakthrough gap, motorized are good enough at a lower price. I consider mechanized battalions a must have as part of heavy tank divisions, for majors at least.

Since Motorized can perform anti mech attacks, perhaps Wheeled Mechanized with 2 squad support weapons, or encumbering armor would be better. That way they have the same 3 MP without the odd ability to flying leap from their vehicles and satchel bomb a mech.

Use them to fill the gap after tanks make breakthrough. As infantry they suck at attacking like before, but has great defense.

Or by replacing "soft" battalions (infantry or cavalry) with motorized or mechanized battalions.
